Message From The Superintendent
Dear Suttons Bay Students and Families,
In Suttons Bay Public Schools, we work hard every day to help our students build strong connections and have opportunities to thrive, and this time of year is a good reminder that great things are on the horizon for our students, staff, and families. In our classrooms, our students are engaged in core instruction and deep learning experiences, while also looking forward to the dozens of field trips and experiences all around our great state. Between now and our last day of school, our students will visit Mackinac Island, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Leelanau State Park, the Crystal River in Glen Arbor, the Grand Rapids Zoo, and many other stops near and far to our region.
Like our students, SBPS staff is looking forward to the change in seasons that allows us to get outside with our students on walking trips during instructional time to Leo Creek, the Inland Seas Education Center, and to Herman Park. After school, our coaches will soon be on the fields and courts with our athletic teams and our students will have many opportunities to participate in trips and activities planned by the staff at LIFT. With some warmer temperatures and more manageable outdoor conditions, our students and staff have so many things to add to their calendar in the weeks ahead.
In addition to our scheduled athletics events, field trips, and after school activities, we would like to invite our school community to join us at our Spring Concerts April 22 & 23 and our High School Graduation Ceremony May 29.
As we embark on this exciting season filled with opportunities and experiences, I encourage everyone, especially our families with students in SBPS, to embrace, support, empower, and celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students. Together, let’s make these upcoming events memorable and foster a spirit of collaboration and enthusiasm throughout our school. Thank you for your continued dedication and support to all of our students and here’s to a wonderful spring ahead!
Upward,
Casey Petz
